A quick walk along the Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq coastline shows how the camp site in this area is in a disastrous state. It seems that it has spread with no plan, with no attention to aesthetics and no provisions for guaranteeing public health. The Safari company is allowed to use this public land through an encroachment permit which is renewed yearly for the summer months. This permit specifies that the company is responsible for cleanliness and maintenance works but clearly this is not being done. In fact one has to be vigilant in order to avoid this site turning into another Armier settlement with people squatting on public land.
